How to brew Daichi

01 · Sift

Sift

Sift 2 g of Daichi into a warm, dry bowl. Sifting is the difference between a fine foam and lumps.

02 · Pour

Pour

Add about 70 ml of water at 80°C — hot, never boiling. Boiling water flattens Daichi's florals.

03 · Whisk

Whisk

Whisk in a light W motion, wrist loose, until a fine, even foam settles — about 30 seconds.

04 · Sip

Sip

Take it as it is; Daichi's balance needs nothing added. For koicha, use 4 g with 40 ml and fold slowly into a glossy paste.

Questions, answered

What makes Daichi different from other ceremonial matcha?
Daichi is a single-cultivar matcha — every leaf is Okumidori, shade-grown for 31 days in Uji, Kyoto, and stone-milled in small batches. Most ceremonial matcha blends several cultivars for consistency; a single cultivar preserves one clear voice — gentle sweetness, pronounced umami, and soft floral aromas.
How do I prepare Daichi?
For usucha (薄茶, thin tea), sift 2 g into a bowl, add about 70 ml of water at 80°C, and whisk in a light W motion until a fine foam forms. For koicha (濃茶, thick tea), use 4 g with 40 ml of water and fold slowly into a glossy paste. Try Daichi with water first — its balance needs nothing added.
What does Daichi taste like?
Naturally sweet, with pronounced umami, a creamy mouthfeel, and delicate floral notes that finish clean. Astringency is close to zero — this is the most ceremonial profile in our lineup.
How much caffeine is in a serving?
A 2 g serving carries roughly 80–140 mg of caffeine, released gradually alongside L-theanine. The result is alertness that stays calm — no spike, no crash.
Where is Daichi grown and milled?
In Uji, Kyoto — the birthplace of the Japanese tea ceremony. It is shade-grown, harvested from the first flush, and stone-milled by our partner tea house, whose facilities are FSSC 22000 certified and JAS organic. Every shipment is then re-tested in India under FSSAI standards.
How should I store matcha?
Keep the pouch tightly sealed, away from heat, light, and moisture. Refrigerate after opening, and let the pouch return to room temperature before opening it again. For peak colour and aroma, finish an opened pouch within a few weeks.
How quickly will my order reach me?
Orders are dispatched within 24 hours and typically arrive in 3–5 business days anywhere in India, shipped via Bluedart and DTDC. We accept prepaid orders for now — cash on delivery is on the way.
